Your first visit at Certified Prosthetics & Orthopedics in Kamloops is an assessment and planning appointment. Book by calling (250) 828-7886 or emailing info@certifiedpo.com. Bring referral paperwork, insurance details, current shoes or devices, and your questions.
What to expect
Your first appointment is a conversation and an assessment. We listen to your goals - daily wear, work, sport, or recovery - review your referral and history, and talk through device options that fit your life.
If casting or measurements make sense that day, we will do them in clinic. If paperwork or funding approval needs to come first, we will map the next steps with you before you leave.
Plan on enough time to ask questions. Bring a support person if that helps.
What to bring
- 01Prescription / referral from your physician or specialist, if you have one.
- 02Insurance card and any claim or adjuster details (extended health, WorkSafeBC, ICBC, PharmaCare, NIHB, DVA).
- 03Shoes or current device - the footwear you wear most days, plus any brace, orthosis, or prosthesis you already use.
- 04List of medications and questions - short notes are fine. Write down what matters most for work, home, and mobility.
How to book
Call the clinic or email us. Tell us whether you need prosthetics, orthotics, bracing, or pediatric care, and whether you already have a referral. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00–4:00.
Referrals: Many devices need a physician prescription. If your doctor is sending paperwork, ask them to fax it to (250) 828-7824, or bring a copy with you. We can walk you through funding forms after we know what you need - see funding options.
